Not everywhere. Not intrusive. Exactly where it fits.

Techkrams Topic Hubs (German Version)

Techkrams Topic Hubs bring together news, reviews, guides and background stories around clearly defined
topics, brands, products or events. Partners can sponsor exactly this context – transparently labelled,
editorially independent and measurable.

What makes it different: sponsorship in the right context

A Hub Partnership is not distributed randomly across Techkrams. It appears within the sponsored Topic Hub and on articles only when a reader enters the respective article directly from that Hub.
If the same visitor reaches the article through Google, Google Discover, social media, a newsletter
or a direct link, the Hub Partnership is not displayed within the article.

Visible – without relying on traditional ad technology

Our Hub Partnerships are deliberately designed without depending on traditional advertising networks
or external ad servers. Partner notices, individual content and advertising assets hosted on Techkrams
are delivered directly as part of the respective Topic Hub.

As a result, the partnership remains visible to many users even when they have an ad blocker enabled.
Traditional advertisements may still be blocked – the booked Hub Partnership operates independently
of those ad formats.

This provides more reliable visibility within a relevant editorial environment without relying on
intrusive advertising formats or tracking by external advertising networks.

What is a Topic Hub?

A Topic Hub is a dedicated editorial topic page within Techkrams. It brings together all relevant content
around a particular subject. A visitor who opens a Hub has already demonstrated an active interest
in that specific topic.

Hubs can cover broad areas such as 3D Printing & Maker, but they can also focus on
more specific areas such as a product category, manufacturer, event or individual product family.

A Hub grows with its topic

A Hub Partnership is not a static advertising placement.
Techkrams Topic Hubs automatically expand whenever new relevant content is published.
New articles, reviews, guides and background stories are added directly to the appropriate Hub based
on their editorial topic assignment.

This means the editorial environment surrounding an active partnership continues to grow over time.
This is particularly valuable for longer-term partnerships: the Topic Hub does not remain frozen
at the point when the campaign starts, but continues to develop with new products, current developments
and additional editorial content.

Parent Hubs and Child Hubs

Our Topic Hubs can be organised hierarchically. A Parent Hub covers a broader subject,
while several more specialised Child Hubs can sit underneath it. This allows a partnership to target either a broad topic or a highly specific area.

Parent Hub

Example: 3D Printing & Maker

A broad topic covering several more specialised areas.

Child Hub

Example: Filament

A clearly defined sub-topic for a particularly focused audience.

Child Hub

Example: Bambu Lab

Brands, product families and specialised areas of interest can also have their own dedicated Hubs.

Flexible sponsorship options

  • Only a Parent Hub can be sponsored while its Child Hubs remain neutral.
  • An entire topic structure can include the Parent Hub and selected Child Hubs.
  • A single Child Hub can be sponsored independently.
  • Different Child Hubs can have different partners.
  • Banners, copy, destination URLs and campaign periods can be configured individually for each Hub.

Example: A partner wants to sponsor only the main Hub

A manufacturer wants to be present exclusively within the 3D Printing & Maker
Parent Hub. In this case, only that area is sponsored. The Child Hubs underneath it can explicitly
be excluded from the sponsorship.

Conversely, a filament manufacturer could sponsor only the Filament Child Hub
without automatically appearing throughout the entire Maker section.

How the sponsorship is delivered

1

The reader visits the sponsored Hub

The Hub displays the clearly labelled partnership together with – depending on the campaign –
individual partner content, a banner or a link to the partner.

2

The reader opens an article from the Hub

The article displays a discreet notice explaining that the article belongs to a sponsored Topic Hub.
An optional, clearly labelled call-to-action can also link directly to the partner.

3

No Hub context means no sponsorship notice

If the same article is accessed through Google, Google Discover, social media, a newsletter,
a direct link or another external source, the Hub Partnership is not displayed within the article.

Why this is valuable for partners

Traditional display advertising aims to generate as many impressions as possible. A Topic Hub follows
a different approach: the reader has already demonstrated their interest.

Someone visiting a Hub about 3D printing, smart rings, gaming hardware, a festival or a specific brand
is already actively engaging with that subject. The partnership therefore appears within a relevant,
self-selected editorial context rather than as a random advertising placement.

The result is less wasted reach, stronger topical relevance and a more natural brand presence than
a conventional advertising placement elsewhere on a website.

Typical sponsorship models

1. Topic leadership

A partner sponsors a major Parent Hub and, if desired, relevant Child Hubs.
This model is particularly suitable for brands that want to establish a long-term presence
across an entire topic.

2. The central Parent Hub only

The brand is present on the central topic page while specialised sub-topics remain neutral.
This keeps the partnership precisely limited to the agreed context.

3. Highly targeted specialist topic

A partner sponsors only a specific Child Hub. This could be a particular product type,
manufacturer or clearly defined area of interest.

4. Multiple partners within one topic ecosystem

A Parent Hub can have one partner while individual Child Hubs are marketed separately.
Each area can have its own partner content, destination pages and campaign period.

Customisable presentation

Depending on the partnership, the following elements can be integrated within a sponsored Hub:

  • individual partner copy
  • banners and campaign creatives
  • partner logos and brand messaging
  • links to a defined partner landing page
  • a “Visit Partner” call-to-action
  • different content for individual Parent and Child Hubs
  • individual campaign start and end dates

Measurement and reporting

The most important performance metrics are recorded separately for each sponsorship period.
Completed campaigns remain archived, allowing their results to be reviewed even after
a partnership has ended.

  • sponsored Hub and partner
  • campaign start and end date
  • number of published articles within the Hub
  • Hub page views during the campaign
  • article sponsorship notice deliveries
  • clicks from the partner area within the Hub
  • clicks from sponsorship notices within articles
  • click-through rate for partner links within articles

Hub page views represent page views rather than unique visitors. Reach, sponsorship notice deliveries
and clicks are deliberately reported as separate metrics.

Editorial remains editorial

A Hub Partnership does not buy an opinion. Partners have no influence over editorial selection,
reviews, ratings, test results or editorial conclusions. Sponsorship and editorial content
remain clearly separated.

The partnership is clearly identified for readers and helps fund the respective editorial
topic coverage on Techkrams.

Frequently Asked Questions

Will my sponsorship automatically appear on every article within the Hub?

No. The sponsorship notice appears within an article
only when the reader has previously visited the sponsored Hub and opens the article directly from that Hub.

Can a competitor sponsor my brand’s Hub?

No. Brand-specific Hubs are protected for the respective brand.
A company cannot deliberately book a direct competitor’s dedicated brand Hub as its own advertising placement.
For example, Sony could not specifically sponsor the Nintendo Hub on Techkrams,
and Nintendo could not specifically book the Sony Hub.

There is one exception resulting from the transparent inheritance structure of a broader topic ecosystem.
If Sony were to sponsor the brand-neutral Gamescom Parent Hub, for example,
that partnership could also be visible within Child Hubs underneath the Gamescom topic –
potentially including a Nintendo-related Child Hub.

In this case, the placement exists solely because Sony is sponsoring the broader Gamescom topic
and not because Sony has specifically booked the Nintendo Hub.
Individual Child Hubs can also be excluded from this inheritance where appropriate.
This allows us to offer attractive sponsorships across broad topic ecosystems while protecting
brand-specific Hubs from being deliberately booked by direct competitors.

What happens if someone accesses an article directly through Google or a link?

No Hub sponsorship notice is displayed in that case. The same applies to visitors arriving through
Google Discover, social media, newsletters, direct links and other external sources.
The Topic Hubs associated with the article remain visible as part of the normal editorial structure.

Why is this contextual limitation an advantage?

Because the brand appears only within a clearly understandable topic context.
The reader has actively selected the relevant topic, so the placement is based on genuine
topic interest rather than being shown randomly.

Can I sponsor only a Parent Hub or only a Child Hub?

Yes. A Parent Hub can be sponsored on its own while its Child Hubs remain neutral.
Likewise, an individual specialist Child Hub can be sponsored independently of its Parent Hub.

Can Parent and Child Hubs have different partners?

Yes. Individual Child Hubs can have their own partners, banners, copy, destination pages
and campaign periods.

Can we provide our own campaign assets?

Yes. Banners, copy and suitable destination pages can be coordinated individually and integrated
within the booked Hub.

Does sponsorship influence Techkrams‘ editorial coverage?

No. Editorial selection, reviews, ratings and opinions remain independent of the sponsor.
A Hub Partnership does not influence editorial conclusions.

What happens when the sponsorship period ends?

The sponsorship placement ends automatically. Campaign performance data remains stored
for subsequent reporting.
